After 3 years of claiming job seekers allowance, cap benefits and healthcare.

Petition Details

Many people scrounge off benefits without any attempt to get a job. With 16% of Britain's population being on benefits for 2 - 4 years. with 10.43bn being spent on benefits within this time period, billions could be saved. The cut will increase every year of unemployment, boosting our economy.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition in its current form as it does not call for a clear action from the UK Government and Parliament. There is already a cap on benefits (you can find out more about this here: www.gov.uk/benefit-cap) and it is not clear from your petition what you think the new cap should be.

It is also not clear what you mean by healthcare cap; for example, whether this would be a restriction on the kind of care that people can access, or a restriction on the cost of care that people can have.

You could start a new petition which explains clearly what action you would like to see.
