Petition Action

Allow all police forces to use water cannons in public order situations.

Petition Details

August 2011 saw the worst rioting in British history! But it could have been prevented if the police used water cannons to disperse rioters and keep the streets safe.

Additional Information

Two years ago the Metropolitan Police purchased three water cannons so the events that happened in 2011 wouldn't happen again. But in 2015 the home secretary banned there use because the were "To dangerous" England wouldn't have burned in 2011 if water cannons were bought. But now that the met buy them they cant use them. So money needs to be pledged to buy water cannons for all forces through out England and Whales.
