Allow Scotland To Have A Second Scottish Independence Referendum

Petition Details

Times have changed since the last referendum in 2014. Scotland voted no to leaving the EU and it is only right that Scotland has another referendum to decide if it would rather stay with the UK or re-join the EU.

Additional Information

On the 13th of March 2017, the First Minister of Scotland announced the intentions to hold a second independence referendum before the United Kingdom leaves the European Union. The SNP were the winning political party in the Scottish Parliament elections in 2016, winning a historic 46.5% of the constituency vote. With their combined support with the Scottish Green Party, Holyrood is made up of a pro-independence majority. The SNP were also elected on the manifesto promise to deliver a second independence referendum “if there is a significant and material change in circumstances that prevailed in 2014, such as Scotland being taken out the EU against our will.”
