Allow the song 'English Rose' by Paul Weller to be England's National Anthem.

Petition Details

Due to the devolution process England needs her own National Anthem. 'English Rose' by Paul Weller is a stirring modern patriotic song and has no religious, war, Imperialism, British or royal references etc therefore will not be divisive and will be more widely acceptable and unifying.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This isn’t something that the UK Government or Parliament would be able to do. There is at present no anthem for England. The use of the present National Anthem is a matter of tradition rather than having any legal or constitutional status.
