Ban all negative connotations for the word Black

Petition Details

Since slavery black people have been seen in a negative fashion, this is also backed up by the English language.

Additional Information

Black listed is a racist term as is Black market which means an illegal market why is it not called as such, if only black people were involved in the illegal market it would be understandable.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government or Parliament cannot regulate the English language. Hate speech legislation is already in place. If you want further measures to be taken to proscribe hate speech, you could start a petition about that. Any new petition would have to call for clear, specific action from the UK Government or Parliament.
