Additional Information

As a result of the recent Olympic games and upcoming Paralympics the BBC as a Public Sector Broadcaster should spend no more than 10% of its sports budget and alloted airtime on the promotion and screening of Football within the United Kingdom. More Emphasis and airtime to be given to other sports. The exposure of other sports on television will help the hoped for continuing legacy in particpation in sport. Together with a goal of a healthy and fitter Nation.

Detailed decisions on programme content and scheduling are matters for the BBC, reflecting its editorial independence. It is a long-standing principle that the Government does not interfere in programme matters, either on arrangements for scheduling or on content
