Apparently if your home was transferred from council to housing association after April 97 you can't buy it. I don't understand why. I think every council or housing association tenant should be given the opportunity to and the discount they receive is determined by how much they have paid in rent on that property. Ie. the longer you have been their the more discount. The money the housing associations would receive in sales would allow them to reinvest to build more property's.
