Petition Action

Campaign for media reporting restriction over the Lee Rigby trial - No voice for terrorists.

Additional Information

The two men accused of murdering Fusilier Rigby near Woolwich barracks on 22 May pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey today.

The men also denied attempting to murder a police officer on that day, as well as planning to murder a police officer on or before that day.

So why plead not-guilty?

These extremists will now get the opportunity to air their tainted and ignorant view of Islam and the worlds press will happily regurgitate their message.

By doing this the worlds media will help to radicalise a further generation of vulnerable people and advertise the extreme Islamic message further than they could possibly hope to independently achieve.

Not placing a media reporting restriction on the trial will only help to serve the terrorist’s ideology and cause.

The public must send a clear and unbiased message that we do not want our media or government to assist in the spread of this poisonous ideology to the vulnerable in society.
