Community Payback

Additional Information

That, in the wake of the recent riots, HM Government affirms its commitment to seek justice for victims and to ensure that suitable punishment and rehabilitation of offenders is given.

In addition to existing sentencing provisions, that ALL offenders involved in the riots must be made to help rebuild the communities that they have destroyed. Offenders should be made to improve the physical appearance of our communities, by clearing and cleaning the streets, repainting and repairing and rebuilding property damaged during the riots.
HM Government should also consider extending the Community Payback, so that offenders should be made to complete longer community rebuilding exercises, which help to improve the overall appearance of our civic spaces and which helps to instill pride in the public realm.
