Compulsory Community Service for Benefit Claimants

Additional Information

Any able-bodied person under the age of 60 claiming unemployment benefits of any kind including jobseekers allowance should have to carry out 25 hours or more community service each week.
(1) This will help to provide the unemployed with new skills that could get them into work sooner
(2) This will give people on unemployment benefits a weekly routine and an incentive to actively seek employment.
(3) This could cut costs for local councils and help communities by putting more man-power into local projects.
