Petition Action

Compulsory national service for public offenders

Additional Information

I wish to start this petition as a means to get the people's voice heard. Time after time we hear of public offenders being let off with ridiculous sentences - hardly a deterrent for other criminals. The lack of respect in society is there for all to see after the recent riots across the UK - it is time for this to stop. Criminals need to be taught a serious lesson. This needs to be done before it is too late or the next generation will turn out just as bad as this one if not worse.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
