Petition Action

Early Referendum on UK Membership of the European Union

Additional Information

We call on HM Government to hold a referendum on "UK Membership of the European Union" as early as possible, preferably in 2014, prior to the next General Election.

This will ensure:

1) That the will of the British People is sought, obtained and honoured and that the date for a referendum is no longer delayed nor manipulated by a Prime Minister for his own political ends nor by an "Out of Touch Parliament".

2) That no political party will be able to "renege on promises" to hold such a referendum as has happened in the past.
