Petition Action

Enable the Granting of British Citizenship to L/Cpl Bale Baleiwai

Additional Information

L/Cpl Bale Baleiwai is a Commonwealth citizen, who as a fomer member of the British Army, has a right to apply for British Citizenship.

After 13 years of dedicated service and the awarding of medals, he now finds his application refused because there is no discretion allowed in applying the regulations. Due to having been subject to summary justice whilst in the Army, his application has been automatically refused.

The government should allow discretion to be used in the making of such decisions and reverse this decision.
