End age-based wage discrimination: raise national & living wage for young people

Petition Details

Young people under 25 are paid lower rates of national and living wage for the same roles. This is age based discrimination. It impacts disproportionately on those just setting out in life and least able to absorb financial shocks, leaving them most vulnerable to being in poverty and deprivation.

UK Govt benefit sanctions data Nov 2015 indicates 44% of sanctions were applied to those under 25, a highly disproportionate equality impact.
