Petition Details

England has not got its own national anthem, our national anthem is "god save the queen", which is royalist and does not represent England and its people. The true national anthem of England should be "land of hope and glory". As our history reveals.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This isn’t something that the UK Government or Parliament would be able to do. The use of the present National Anthem is a matter of tradition rather than having any legal or constitutional status.
