Petition Action

Equal rights for fathers.

Petition Details

I have heard many stories of strong men breaking down in tears when there child/children have been taken away to go to there mothers. Men hardly have any say when it comes to there children and its wrong. It takes two to make a child.

Additional Information

By the end of today, another 200 children will have been cruelly separated from their fathers in secret family courts.

Not only is suicide the biggest killer of men under 45 in the UK, but separated dads are three times more likely to die after separation than mothers according to data from the Department for Work and Pensions

In addition to this over 100 dads are believed to have killed themselves because of demands from the Child Support Agency

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like the UK Government or Parliament to do.

You can find out more about parental rights and responsibilities here:

www.gov.uk/parental-rights-responsibilities

http://www.lawandparents.co.uk/what-are-legal-rights-father.html

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you'd like the UK Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could start a petition calling for automatic shared custody between mothers and fathers if that's what you want to happen.
