Petition Action

Explicit recognition for all emergency services in dealing with the August riots

Additional Information

While tactics may have been constrained and the deployment/reaction not as fast as it could have been, we owe a debt of gratitude and recognition to the emergency services in confronting and dealing with the August riots.

We, the undersigned, petition the government to recognise the actions of all emergency services by:

1. Making a dedicated statement recognising and commending the actions of ALL emergency service workers who collectively dealt with the August riots.

2. That the statement of commendation be explicitly endorsed by all political parties, council, community and religious leaders AND be read out personally by the Prime Minister.

3. That some financial 'token of appreciation' be given to all emergency service workers to convey the deep thanks and gratitude of the law abiding majority.
