Extension of child fares on buses and trains to reflect the changes in the school leaving age
Starting this year, the school leaving age is raising to 17 in 2014 and 18 in 2015. This places a greater financial burden on parents. We therefore feel that the Department of Transport should intervene with the providers of public transport across the country to ensure that child fares are extended to all those still in compulsory education.
