Force Robert Deveraux to work to state pension age. He’s the man that made it 67

Petition Details

Sir Robert Deveraux is retiring at age 61 after increasing our state pension age to 67. He retires with a £245,000 lump sum and £85,000 per year, that’s a £1.8M pension pot. Why should ordinary hard working people work themselves to death so that he can put his feet up in the sun on tax payers money

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

It's Government Ministers, not civil servants, who are accountable for Government policy changes. Changes to the state pension age were made by changing the law, which needs to be approved by Parliament.

A new scheme for civil servant pensions was introduced on 1 April 2015. Under this scheme, civil servants will have a normal pension age which is linked to their state pension age.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. For example, you could ask for changes to the state pension age to be changed.
