Force the holiday industry to not hike up prices during school term times.
After today's ruling at the Surpreme Court against Dad Jon Pratt. I wanted to start a petition myself. My brother died unexpectedly on 1st Jan 2011 his funeral was 18th Jan 2011. At the time my son & granddaughter was in year one, they wasn't allowed out of school to attend the funeral.
Head teachers should give discretion when there is illness, family emergencies and family funerals.
I think the government should force the holiday industry to not hike up prices during school holidays, so in effect parents won't need to take their children out of school during term time. Holiday prices should be the same through out the year, no other counties do this so why do we have to put up with it, it is so unfair to most families who can do with a family holiday abroad.
