This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.

Free travel for students is one of the most frequent petitions to the Department for Transport (see, for example, http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/2355). We reject duplicate petitions so that signatures are concentrated on those already submitted, rather than spread thinly over several. If you want to set up a petition of your own, it will need to call for something distinctive that other petitions haven't asked for (the search facility on the e-petitions website isn't the greatest in the world, but with some ingenuity you should be able to work out what's already on there).
