Off the Street, Less Heat is a youth diversion project which provides sports and other workshops to distract young people from anti-social behaviour, gang-related violence and street crime. Due to Government cuts, it and projects like it have lost funding.

Additional Information

Off the Street, Less Heat was started in 2006/07 by Elaine Roberts, who came up with the name and idea, to help get young people off the streets and welcome people from all different communities. The project also aims to improve the relations between the police and the local community. Off the Street, Less Heat and similar projects all over the country need direct funding from the Government to ensure that they can continue.
