The element of green taxes included in and collected by energy companies should be collected and the spending of them controlled by HMRC.Collecting the tax by the current method means that low income earners, who are exempt from income tax are falling into the tax net. Action is urgent to relieve many from heavy increases in gas and electricity bill over the coming winter.
