Help to Preserve Historic Religious Buildings
We call upon the government to provide financial help for listed religious buildings to defray the cost of carrying out necessary repair and maintenance work, or of being adapted to provide a resource for the local community.
This financial help could be paid either in the form of tax relief or directly through an independent fund.
Many small, local groups of volunteers find it hard to fund essential repairs to maintain these extraordinary parts of our national legacy and, without public support, they will be lost forever.
