Petition Action

Hold a full Parliamentary debate and free vote on invoking Article 50.

Petition Details

The EU Referendum is not a "constitutionally" valid way of making law in the UK therefore any attempt to invoke Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty without the consent of Parliament would be illegal under UK and EU law. Article 50 must only be invoked after a full Parliamentary debate and free vote.

Additional Information

Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty states "Any Member State may decide to withdraw from the Union in accordance with its own constitutional requirements."
