Petition Action

Hold a parliamentary debate and free vote on whether or not to invoke Article 50

Petition Details

Given the EU referendum is advisory and influential claims made during the campaign have since been reneged upon by both sides, we request a fact-based parliamentary debate and free vote to decide whether it’s appropriate to invoke Article 50 and proceed with leaving the EU

Additional Information

The Prime Minister has resigned, the Labour Party is organising a vote of no confidence in their leader and the Scottish First Minister is considering whether to ask the Scottish people to take part in a second referendum on independence for Scotland. We believe this emerging situation may damage our country’s current and future prosperity. Our MPs should reach a consensus on the course of action that will unify our country, given what has happened since the referendum result was announced.
