A former chief editor of Ming Pao, Hong Kong newspaper, is in critical condition after being stabbed on Wednesday, 26/2/2014.
Hong Kong citizens are strongly condemns the acts of violence.
A free press is the cornerstone of modern democracy, the rule of law. And it is the bounden duty of journalists to defend the truth in the public interest. Acts of violence and intimidation to suppress the media and the people are cowardly behavior, but we will not flinch. We hope the authorities to handle this event seriously, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
As it has became an international news, we hope the world listen to our call for help, the press of freedom of Hong Kong, as well as other countries, shall not be silenced and manipulated.
We are now asking the authorities to help monitor what the Government has done to the press, not only Hong Kong's but other places too.
