Petition Action

I want to create a law to neuter domestic cats except for registered breeders.

Petition Details

Animal shelters are always full of unwanted or abandoned cats. I cannot understand why you wouldn't care for your sentient family member.
Hypothetically, one unneutered female could be responsible for over 20,000 descendants in five years

Additional Information

Facts and Figures via Cats Protection
Estimations of one to two million stray cats.
• Over 150,000 stray and abandoned cats enter shelter care in the UK every year
• In 2016 we helped around 500 cats a day
• Cats Protection rehomed 43,000 cats in 2016
• Cats Protection reunited 3,000 cats with their owners in 2016
In 2016 CP trapped, neutered and returned 20,000 feral cats.
CP runs the largest single species neutering programme in the world.

Lack of Money is no excuse - help is available
CP can help with the cost of neutering and micro-chipping if you receive State Benefits or are on a low income. The RSPCA also have a voucher scheme.
