Petition Action

I would like the Human Rights Act 1998 to be revisited and restricted.

Petition Details

Many foreign criminals may be held for a year or more and considered for deportation however in many cases, they may stay in the United Kingdom as it may 'breach their human rights'. An example of this is the right to life the reasonable person would believe that everyone deserves the right to life.

Additional Information

However, there are also many people who wouldn't believe that people are entitled to the right to live. An example of this is criminals such as paedophiles or murderers, why are they allowed to kill or rape and be allowed to live in an establishment which is typically better than most people who aren't in prisons. A prisoner has a cushioned life, they get experience whilst in prisons and they're given more meals than a person who has to work or are claiming allowances. This is just one example.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure what changes you'd like to the Human Rights Act.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
