Petition Action

If David Cameron says convicted rioters and vandals will pay for their actions, let them pay with a new vandals tax

Additional Information

The vandals tax would be charged at 20% of gross earnings (either earned or scrounged through benefits) until the convicted vandal or rioter has fully repaid his or her debt to society (including court and conviction costs).

The tax will be attached to the persons national insurance number and will be unavoidable.

This would be a significant deterrant to partaking in these activities as the vandals tax could blight the person for life, hitting them hard in the pocket rather than with a cushy asbo, fine or short prison sentence
