Introduction of National Service - Military or Social
This petition is calling for the government to introduce a form of National Service for male and females from at age of 18. It is envisaged that the form of service can either be within the military or within a social service, for those not wishing to perform militray service. Social National Service would include working in care homes, for charitable organisations, youth work etc.
Those performing military service would not be required to be employed to a war zone but would assist in areas requiring humanitarian support, both within the UK, following natural disasters and overseas.
