Judge Blackett to be forced to resign as help for heroes trustee
The comments made by Judge Blackett during the trial and sentencing of Marine A, are felt to be wholly incompatible with the judges position as a trustee within the Help for Heroes charity. There is a clear conflict of interest between between the judges sentencing policy and that required for a trustee in a major armed forces charity.Therefore, Judge Blackett should be forced to leave this position within this charity. We ask Government to demand his resignation forthwith.
