Legal requirement to provide feedback for all job applicants

Additional Information

We the undersigned would like the Government to change the law and require that all employers and employment agencies advertising jobs be required to provide acknowledgement of a job application and to provide a fair and reasonable amount of feedback to all unsuccessful applicants.

We believe that the current behaviour of employers and employment agencies, in ignoring unsuccessful applicants and providing little or no meaningful feedback does nothing to aid the Government's stated goals of reducing unemployment, especially in young adults and in graduates.

Positive feedback and encouragement from employers for unsuccessful applicants would be enormously beneficial in eliminating feelings that job seekers have been thrown on the scrap heap and could prove enormously beneficial to the economy as a result.
