Legislative intervention in Premier League ticket prices

Petition Details

Premier league ticket prices have been rising for years and enough is enough. Football is a working-class game which loyal fans are being priced out of. Fans should be rewarded for their loyalty to their club, not exploited.

Additional Information

With the new TV deals growing year after year, football clubs no longer have an excuse to exploit their fans for more and more money. Together we can bring this to the attention of the government and push for a cap on Premier League ticket prices.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government and Parliament don't control the prices for Premier League tickets.

You could ask the Government or Parliament to offer incentives for clubs to reduce the price of tickets - for example, through the tax system.
