Petition Action

Lets make Children & Adolescent Mental Health priority for N.Ireland government

Petition Details

Between 2013-2014 just under 5000 young people under the age of 19 were reported to have been admitted to our A & E around the province with self-harm alone. Currently N.Ireland only has one specialist facility (31 beds) which is there to offer support & treatment for our children with MH conditions

Additional Information

We need our government to bring children and adolescents Mental Health to the forefront and show their support and actually do something about it. I would like to get enough support to lobby government for a second specialist unit in N.Ireland to further help our children and the services that are already in place but are stretched.
Currently the children are coming from all corners of N.Ireland to Belfast for this which takes them further away from their families and makes visiting difficult.
