Lower the voting age for all Elections and Referendums to 16 years old
At the age of 16 the Government deems you old enough to become a parent, get married and contribute to the treasury. Therefore, you are seen able and old enough to decide who makes the policies that so greatly affect your life currently and in the future.
The following is from the Electoral Commission report on the Scottish Independence Referendum, which allowed 16 and 17 year old to vote.
"109,593 16 and 17 year olds were included on the registers by the registration deadline and 75% of those we spoke to claimed to have voted. Importantly, 97% of those 16-17 year olds who reported having voted said that they would vote again in future elections and referendums."
