Make it compulsory to be 16 to have any social media account.

Petition Details

Social media is wrecking young lives, if it's not bullying which branches out way past their own school, its isolating and excluding kids who see the 'fun ' they haven't been asked to join, choices are made of what to post on a whim and regretted.

Additional Information

Children's mental health services are struggling to cope with referrals they are receiving, this is a ticking time bomb for children.

Share aware an NSPCC - advice detailing how to keep your child safe online.
There is lots of advice about staying safe, most worrying however is the anxiety caused by the Apps.
The majority of apps can be accessed easily, with fabricated dates of birth.

At the moment, age policies are the responsibility of social media sites.

If you would like Parliament to change the law, to make it illegal to offer social media accounts to children under 16, then you could start a petition asking for that.
