Petition Action

Make personal development a compulsory subject in secondary schools

Petition Details

The curriculum needs a new innovative system that recognises pupils as individuals with a variety of different gifts, talents and skills. This change could start by introducing personal development as a compulsory subject, where pupils will be encouraged to unlock their potentials.

Additional Information

Institutions are considered to be the ‘2nd home for children’ therefore we should use this opportunity to contrubite towards nurturing, moulding and helping them flourish into the best versions of themselves.

If personal development as a subject was to be taught in schools, we would have more young people that valued themselves and their futures.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure exactly what you'd like a personal development curriculum to include.

If you would like to "Get schools to teach life skills and how to handle emotions", you might like to sign this petition instead:

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
