Make police checks compulsory on all visa applicants to the UK
The UK must be brought into line with other countries e.g. America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa etc and insist on a police check on criminal records before issuing visas. The current system allows dangerous criminals to get visas by lying. My family nearly lost their lives as a result of this weakness. This is a zero cost procedure as the applicant pays. It would save millions in court cases, police work, prison, legal aid etc and keep us all safer.
