Make prisoners pay back for their care Like a student Loan
Why should it be that students have to pay back their tuition fees when prisoners get full board and lodgings for nothing,
The same rules should apply for prisoners as for students.
The cost of their care and rehabilitation is a loan payable when their wage reaches a certain threshold.
I would also add the caveat that if it is not repaid when they come to retire that their retirement date is delayed accordingly.
We need to send a strong message that crime is unacceptable and they will pay.
