Petition Action

make resources available to implement measures to enforce 20 mph speed limits.

Petition Details

Most of East Reading has local 20 mph speed limits, particularly outside schools and in residential streets. With out enforcement the majority of traffic and drivers fail to comply with the limit. Without additional funding most police forces cannot prioritise the 20 mph speed limits

Additional Information

FOI requests to TVP show how little enforcement has been carried out.
Anecdotal observation indicates as much as 80% of drivers are ignoring the limits with a few injury accidents having vehicle speed as an underlying cause.
