Petition Action

Make St. George's Day a Public (Bank) Holiday

Additional Information

We petition the Government to make the 23rd April a public holiday in England in homage to England's patron saint St. George.

Both of the dates which St. Andrew's and St. Patrick's day fall on are marked and celebrated in their region of the UK with a public holiday and the English are entitled to the same.

We also petition that any plans or proposals to combine St. George's day and May Day are abandoned, as May Day is an ancient traditional holiday which is also part of our heritage and culture.
