Mandatory Event Data Recorder Systems (MEDRS or black-box recorders) to be installed in all new cars, taxis, buses, coaches and lorries used in the UK

MEDRS data only accessible to UK Police Force and Public Prosecutor.

MEDRS data would improve road safety and could be offered to the UK Police Force if it may have recorded events.

MEDRS function testing to become part of future Ministry of Transport (MOT) tests.

UK Public Prosecutor to own all MEDRS data to safeguard the public and control disclosure.

MEDRS may reduce insurance premiums by identifying good drivers.

MEDRS may speed up the judicial (and Civil) systems in the event of an accident or a claim for compensation.

MEDRS may reduce fraudulent claims, and bogus scams.

MEDRS data may protect the innocent and support all road users.
