Motor Insurance No Claims Discount
I took 7yrs NCD to Aviva in April '10, a year later I left and went to another insurer, Aviva refused to provide any more than 5yrs NCD reducing earned and entitled NCD by 3yrs (I had not claimed), I now only have 6yrs NCD when I should actually have 9.
This affects prices that are offered by other insurers, thus restricts freedom of movement.
I'm sure I'm not the only one that has found they are affected by this?
I suggest one of two things:
1, that ALL insurance companies are governed by the same rules and have to provide all customers with the full NCD they have earned and are entitled to.
2, That an insurer has to make it VERY clear, that when you accept their quote, any NCD you currently have will be reduced to a set level (displayed), will NOT increase, and should you leave, that is the maximum they will issue.
This you have to accept individually by tick box.
