National Service for over 16 year olds.
Compulsory National Service for 16 to 19 year olds that are not in work or full time education.
They would serve one year.
The aim would be to give them a sense of purpose and discipline. They would then have the choice to continue a career within the armed forces or use any skills aquired during the year as a spring board to a more productive life.
