Income from the TV licence is primarily used to fund the television, radio and online services of the BBC.

The BBC have changed the look and functionality of their Website to something that thousands of Users hate. I would like to Petition for the return of the old style Homepage that we all love

This Petition is to enlist the help of Governemt as to why the BBC are using our money to change a Website that thousands of people simply do not want but still have to contribute to by using our money via the TV Licence.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This is a matter for the BBC and there is no provision for the Government to intervene in such matters.

The BBC's governing instruments, the Royal Charter and Agreement, place broad obligations on the Corporation in respect of its television, radio and online services, and its objectives, programme content and standards. Within this framework detailed decisions on website content are matters for the BBC, reflecting its editorial independence
