Overturn Plan to Increase School Hours

Additional Information

To ask the government to overturn plans to increase school hours to 8am-6pm school days & inc term time to 45 weeks, for all children as young as 4 from 2016

This move would see children working more hours than many adults.

Childhood is an essential part of life, it would leave very young children with as little as 2 hours a day to eat & bath & for family time & increase pressure on hardworking families. This will not support the needs of the individual child & protect the right of child to be a child.& the right to families to have quality family time

Other effects inc decreased concentration & performance of children due to tiredness, & increased time off due to illness; Inc. truancy; Inc. unauthorised absence for holidays; Inc. pressure on teachers.

Please sign to show that the majority of parents do not want this for their family
