Parliament is obliged to hold a Vote on ePetitions that have 100,000 signatures or more
Whilst I welcome the debates that Parliament is obliged to hold on behalf of voters when e-petitions exceed 100,000 votes, it should be obligatory that such debates
a) are not subject to any party whip
b) should be free
c) a vote is mandatory, so that voters can see whom has voted for and against
d) any attempt to influence the vote along party lines must be declared at the start of the debate
e) the result of the vote should be binding, and legislation must be introduced and implemented.
