Petition Action

People on Job Seekers should do voluntary work in the community to build skills

Petition Details

Voluntary work increases people's skills and experience, which are vital for finding a job.

Those on job seekers should have to do a fixed amount of work within the community to help their application and increases self esteem & motivation. It also assists councils with increasing cuts.

Additional Information

Councils no longer have funds to do all the maintenance work, but there are also many community groups and charities desperate for people to help, with many choosing a life on benefits.

Job seekers should have to do a fixed amount voluntary work to earn their benefits while looking for jobs.

Voluntary work will increase the respect people have for the areas they have helped to improve, decrease the amount of vandalism, increases the likelihood of employment and future positive habits.
