Petition to prevent Tom Winsor from being allowed the HMI post

Additional Information

Tom Winsor was contracted by Theresa May to review the Pay and Conditions of the Police Service, his law firm were involved in the privatisation of many parts of Lincolnshire Police.

A police officer or former police officer has always held the HMI's job. This is due to the unique nature of policing, it is important to have a solid understanding of the role to advise on it.

The Police swear their allegiance to the crown, this is one of the many important checks and balances of this countries systems.

Theresa May is recommending someone to a role that will advantage her own political ends; it is not in the countries, the people's or policing's best interest. It would appear, and the press agree that this has been done as a way to cause confrontation with the police, A way of saying "We're in charge, so just behave"
